New Evidence at Jackson Doctor Case

The preliminary hearing in the case against Michael Jackson’s doctor has heard new evidence from doctor’s and paramedics at a Los Angeles courtroom. Dr Conrad Murray faces up to four years in prison if he is tried and convicted of involuntary manslaughter.
Jackson died in June 2009 aged 50 in spite of reported attempts by Dr Murray to revive the singer as his children looked on. However, prosecutors claim that Dr Murray’s negligent treatment actually contributed to Jackson’s death.

Baker Street Musician Gerry Rafferty Dies

The Scottish musician Gerry Rafferty died on 4th January at the age of 63 after a long illness. It is said he died peacefully at his home in Dorset with his daughter Martha at his bedside.
Born on 16th April 1947 in Paisley, Scotland, Rafferty was taught to sing some Irish rebel songs by his Irish father. His musical career though began as a busker working on the London Underground, which turned out to be an inspiration for his most famous hit record.

Surviving Doors Members Hope for Morrison Pardon

Jim Morrison’s surviving band mates are hoping that Florida Governor Charlie Crist will grant him a posthumous pardon in the case of his indecent exposure conviction in that state. The Governor has convened a hearing to evaluate whether Morrison should be granted pardon in the case, which he was appealing when he was found dead in a French Hotel. If he were still living, Jim Morrison would now be sixty-seven years of age.

Lennon Fans Celebrate in Strawberry Fields

There is a garden in New York’s Central Park called Strawberry Fields. It was named that in honor of John Lenon, and this week, many of his fans gathered there to celebrate his life. This celebration coincided with Rolling Stone Magazine’s release of the last interview he gave, which was shortly prior to his death. In it, Lenon seemed optimistic about the future. This year marks thirty years since he was tragically gunned down outside an apartment building in Manhattan.

Carnie Wilson Gains Weight

Wilson used to be a spokesperson for Fresh Diet, which is a food delivery service.  She was fired by the company because she gained weight and was supposedly using the diet to keep her weight off.  She had lost nineteen pounds while on Fresh Diet, but then gained it back, plus some more, said a company spokesperson.  Wilson has launched her own cheesecake company.

Kardashian Sisters Want Out Of Debit Card Deal

A new prepaid card was due out, featuring the Kardashian sisters, who are on reality TV more often than not.  They are perhaps better known for their romantic adventures more than their financial knowledge.  The debit card had a fee of $100 and the sisters hope to attract fans from their TV show.  At $100 per year to use, it didn’t appear to be much of a bargain.

Madonna Looks Amazing At 52

An amazing looking Madonna celebrated her 52nd birthday 3 days early with a party in London at the ever so hip venue, Shoreditch House. For a woman who is coming up to 52 years old it would be fair to say that she has the looks and the body of a woman half of her age, she really does look absolutely fantastic.

George Michael Gets Eight Weeks Inside

George Michael was sent to prison for eight weeks for crashing his car whilst under the influence of a drug which was thought to be cannabis.
