The Government today announced plans to cut the child benefit in the UK which is payable to each family who has children up until they are nineteen years old. As expected, the announcement caused uproar amongst the middle income earners who these cuts will affect the most.
The announcement stated that any family where one parent earns more than £44,000 per year will have their child benefit removed. This move will be implemented in 2013 and will save the government an estimated £1bn per year.

The U.S. Justice Department is taking a look at the allegations that the country’s financial institutions were and are inappropriately foreclosing on homes, said Attorney General Eric Holder recently.
A few states are looking into the practices of several financial intuitions such as JPMorgan Chase and Co. and Ally Financial Inc, formerly called GMAC. These two companies have halted the foreclosure process in numerous states amid the crisis.
