The Fears of Bankruptcy Grow

Concerns are growing in the UK about the growing number of bankruptcies amongst all age groups, but in particular pensioners. After a torrid time experienced by the British economy over the last couple of years it has emerged that bankruptcies have risen over the last 10 years.

Blockbuster Files For Chapter 11 Bankruptcy Reorganization

Blockbuster has certainly seen its fair share of rough years but this year has been particularly rough.
First, the New York Stock Exchange delisted its shares. Now, the company has filed Chapter 11 bankruptcy reorganization to vie against the online video-rental service Netflix and the phenomenon of the rental booths.
Blockbuster calls this Chapter 11 filing a “prearranged recapitalization”. The reorganization encompasses just the company’s U.S-based stores and operations that it exclusively owns. Blockbuster said franchise and international stores are omitted in the filling.
