The Universities and Colleges Admissions Service (Ucas) say that applications for University are on the rise, so far there has been an rise of 2.5% in applications to UK universities, compared with last year’s level.
The main reason for this is believed to be the rise in tuition fees that will be taking place in 2012, with students wanting to apply before this happens.
The surge in applications will surely bring a large strain on the available university places.

In the month of October, unemployment rates fell in over half of America’s biggest cities. In November, however, they actually rose in almost a third of them. As a result, the hiring outlook in the United States is mixed. Job markets are brightening a little for 2011. About 3% more jobs are opening up and the consulting and financial sectors may provide the most jobs. Joe Light reported that if employers could feel better regarding taxes, political strategies and health care costs, they would consider hiring more.

A new report released today stated that most solar employers in both the UK and the US are looking to increase their workforce in 2011.

The results of an independent report were released today in which it is recommended that university students will be charged £6,000 per year for their studies.
This eagerly anticipated report by Lord Browne calls for the university funding procedure to be simplified and easier to understand but it does mean that students will be required to spend more on their study fees as well as higher interest charges on any loans that they take out.
