The England cricket team have retained the Ashes in Melbourne for the first time in 24 years and with a match to spare – after winning the fourth test.

Hundreds of mourners came to pay their last respects for rugby league star Terry Newton, who was found dead inside his home. He was 31.
Newton, a former rugby professional, allegedly hung himself inside his Wigan home after his club expelled him and he was forbidden from playing the sport professionally over drug problems. It’s thought that Newton killed himself after become depressed about the problems in both his career and private life.
